Frequently Asked Questions
Safety
Is crystal-infused water safe to drink?
With a Glacce bottle, yes. The crystal sits in a sealed chamber at the base, separated from your water by a stainless steel cap. The stone never touches what you drink. We built the bottle this way on purpose.
What about crystals that are toxic in water?
Some minerals should never contact drinking water directly. Every Glacce bottle uses a sealed stainless steel chamber — the crystal and your water never meet. We only use quartz-family stones, but the physical barrier is the real safeguard. For the full breakdown, see our crystal water safety guide.
What materials is the bottle made from?
Borosilicate glass (the same used in lab equipment), food-grade stainless steel, and a food-safe silicone gasket. No plastic. No glue. No adhesives of any kind. It holds together mechanically.
Do They Work?
Does crystal water actually do anything?
No peer-reviewed science proves that crystals transfer energy to water. What we do know: ritual matters. Choosing a stone, setting an intention, drinking water throughout the day — these habits change how you move through a morning. You hydrate more. You pause more. Placebo effects are documented, measurable, and frankly underrated. We are not making medical claims. We make a beautiful object that gives your water habit a reason to stick.
Is this just a fancy water bottle?
It is a fancy water bottle. Borosilicate glass and stainless steel framing a crystal that has been in the earth for millions of years. Some people use it for intention-setting. Some like how it looks on their desk. Neither needs justification.
Does crystal water taste different?
Most say no. The crystal is sealed in a separate chamber, so nothing dissolves into your water. What people report is that they drink more water when they enjoy the vessel. Take that however you like.
Crystals
Which crystal should I choose?
Rose quartz for love. Amethyst for calm. Clear quartz for focus. Black obsidian for protection. Smoky quartz for grounding. Those are the traditional associations. If none of them land, pick the one you think is beautiful. Browse the collection and trust your eye.
Can I switch the crystal in my bottle?
Yes. Unscrew the base, remove the crystal pod, drop in a different stone. This also makes cleaning simple.
Are crystals sourced ethically?
Our crystals come from small-scale mines in Arkansas and Brazil. Every stone is hand-selected. No two are identical — that is the point. Read more about where our stones come from in our story.
Care and Cleaning
How do I clean my Glacce bottle?
Unscrew the top and base. Wash the glass body and stainless steel parts with warm water and mild soap. Air dry everything before reassembling. Skip the dishwasher. For the full routine, see our crystal care guide.
How do I charge or cleanse the crystal?
Remove it from the base. Moonlight overnight, a few hours of morning sun, or just hold it and set a fresh intention. We cover this in detail in our guide on how to use your crystal water bottle.
Price and Value
Why does a Glacce bottle cost $80?
Lab-grade glass. Stainless steel hardware. A hand-selected crystal that is genuinely one of a kind. No glue, no shortcuts. For context: a Hydro Flask runs $45 to $65. A LARQ self-cleaning bottle costs $95 to $135. Glacce sits in that range and includes a real mineral specimen inside it.
Is it worth buying, or should I just put a crystal in a regular bottle?
You can. People do. The risk: not every crystal is water-safe, and a loose stone in a glass bottle can chip, crack the glass, or leach in ways you will not see. A purpose-built bottle solves this with a sealed chamber, tested materials, and a design that keeps the stone locked in place. If that matters to you, the collection is here.
Is borosilicate glass fragile?
It is glass. Drop it on concrete and it will break. But borosilicate is significantly stronger than regular soda-lime glass — it handles temperature swings without cracking and holds up to daily use in a bag, on a desk, on a nightstand. Treat it like a good wine glass and it will last.
Shipping and Orders
How long does shipping take?
Standard US shipping takes 5 to 7 business days. Expedited options are available at checkout. International varies by destination. Every bottle ships in protective packaging because glass and couriers have a complicated relationship.
What if my bottle arrives damaged?
Contact us. Send a photo and your order number. We replace it. No back-and-forth.
