Amethyst Straw

Hand-selected amethyst, sealed inside a reusable borosilicate glass straw. Deep violet you can see through every drink. The stone the Greeks carved into wine goblets, now fitted for your morning water, afternoon iced tea, or evening cocktail. $68.

The Stone

The name comes from the Greek amethystos, meaning "not intoxicated." Greeks and Romans studded their drinking vessels with amethyst, convinced the stone could keep a clear head. Before large Brazilian deposits surfaced in the 1800s, amethyst ranked alongside diamond, ruby, sapphire, and emerald as a cardinal gemstone. The supply changed. The mineral did not.

The purple forms over millions of years inside volcanic geodes, where trace iron and natural radiation produce color that shifts between blue-violet and warm burgundy depending on the light. No dye, no coating. The color is structural. Mohs hardness 7. Completely water-safe.

In crystal healing traditions, amethyst maps to the third eye chakra (Ajna) and the crown. The stone people reach for when the room is too loud and the mind won't stop. For the full mineral history, see our guide to amethyst meaning and properties.

The Design

The amethyst sits in a sealed section inside the glass straw. Your drink flows around the stone without touching it. Crystal stays protected, drink stays clean, and the violet is visible the whole time.

How to Use It

Drop it in your glass. Drink. That's it.

If you set intentions: before your first sip, hold the straw and choose a word. Calm, clarity, patience. Each time you pick it up, the violet catches your eye and the word comes back. One sip, one reset.

Works in water, iced coffee, smoothies, cocktails, sparkling water. Let it return to room temperature between hot and cold drinks. The borosilicate lasts longer that way.

Why Amethyst

Amethyst is the most visually distinct straw in the collection. The purple reads through any liquid, any glass, any light. It holds a table's attention without needing a story.

Where the Clear Quartz Straw works broadly across all chakras, amethyst is specific: third eye and crown. Reach for it on meditation days, during creative work, or any afternoon where you'd rather be still than social.

The straw pairs with the Amethyst Bottle or replaces it when a full bottle is impractical. Office kitchen, coffee shop, dinner out. Same stone, smaller format, same sealed design.

Care

Rinse with warm water after each use. Run the included brush through the interior. Hand washing preserves the straw longest. Dishwasher works, top rack only.

The sealed amethyst needs nothing. If energetic cleansing is part of your routine, moonlight and sound both pass through the glass.

UV fades amethyst over time. Store it out of direct sun and the color holds. Inspect the glass occasionally; chips or cracks mean replacement time.

What You Get

A reusable glass straw with a sealed amethyst that has been the calm-down stone for thousands of years. Pick it up, pause, drink. The violet is the reminder.
